It is imperative that you warm up and stretch. Cold muscles are actually highly likely to get into injuries so you have to avoid that by warming them up. Warming up the muscles may come in the form of exercises such as jumping jacks and running.

As it is important to warm up and stretch before you play, it is also important that you cool down and stretch at the end of it. No matter how busy your schedule is, you have to make sure to stretch the body so that you can reduce the muscle soreness that you will feel. It can also keep the muscles long and flexible.

Water is essential for the body. Get yourself as properly as you can. You should never allow yourself to get dehydrated to the point where you cannot shed any more sweat and eventually cool down. Not having enough water in the body will affect your performance negatively.

You need to protect yourself against the harmful rays of the sun. This is especially true if you are playing the said sports competition outside. You have to find the sun protection that has at least an SPF 15 sunscreen.
